The Big Five describes tendencies, without good or bad personalities. It does not provide a diagnosis or measure intelligence.
What the science says
An approach to personality based on continuous dimensions, rather than fixed types.
The research
The IPIP lexical markers describe five broad factors. Johnson (2014) separately developed the IPIP-NEO-120 from 300 items, with four statements for each of thirty facets.
What the test explores
The 50-item form has five dimensions with ten statements each. The 120-item form has five domains with twenty-four statements each and thirty four-item facets. Emotional stability in the short form runs opposite to emotional reactivity in the long form.
The version offered
Two separate, free experiences using published English statements. French uses the Gibson/Boucher translation with spelling regularization for 50 items, and Johnson’s selected items from the Thiry/Piolti European French adaptation for 120. No independent validation of these French forms or this interface is claimed.
What to keep in mind. No diagnosis, overall score, or percentile without an appropriate reference population. Sadness and worry facets do not screen for a condition. The two forms’ results are not interchangeable; descriptions refer to the response-scale midpoint rather than population norms.

Sources and terms of use
IPIP items are in the public domain, including for commercial use. The 50-item form uses Goldberg’s lexical markers and published IPIP instructions and key. French uses the archived Gibson/Boucher translation with documented regularization. The 120-item form uses Johnson’s (2014) selection, four items per facet, with the Thiry/Piolti French adaptation based on Gravel. Reading aids and interpretations are editorial. Independent psychometric validation of this interface or the proposed French forms is not claimed. Exact correspondence with the patient portal has not been confirmed.
